Being a noob all over again

So I took my loremaster into the moors last night for the first time to do some of the quests for xp mainly trying to get him to 50, however I wasnt going to be opposed to running into a creep or 2 to test my skills a bit.

So I ran around the entire map getting all the keeps on my map, talking to mudbottom, etc. Didnt run into any creeps until I went into isen. I went into the north entrance and ran into a warleader. Not really sure what rank he was but he was a skirmisher.

My lm may only be 49 but I was getting my butt kicked cause that stupid diminishing returns and he was poting out of everything. I couldnt damage him enough cause, well Im a loremaster. I did end up getting a mez on him and a couple roots to get away but I found myself wondering what went wrong. I remember loremasters being a bit more powerful in there than that.

Is it just me or did the diminishing returns ruin the effectiveness of a loremaster in solo and small fellowship play in pvp? Im not one to complain a whole lot but isnt that about the only thing that lms are good for? Why nerf it? As far as I can see they totally made a loremaster reliant on being in a raid. For me that kinda sucks cause I like to solo and run around in small groups better than the "new" moors which is nothing but a zerg fest.

Not trying to say that is why I couldnt kill the guy but it just seemed that this was a huge reason I couldn’t do squat to the wl I ran into. I am willing to take part of the blame for not being able to at least give the guy a fight simply because I havent been out there on my lm yet, perhaps I just need to learn a bit more.

Any advice on being effective as a lm in solo and small fellowship pvp with would be greatly appreciated by this noobish lm. Thanks in advance.

Ettenmoors Community Blog Weekend Edition: August 1-3, 2008

I didn’t get many screenies, and based on last night my guess was they’d have to be filtered too much to be postable anyway (:o) but I did get this nice shot of a strange deja-vu moment.

I’d tell stories, but ummmmm . . . mostly it was of dying so I guess the most fun I had was being crazy Minstrel along with Aronvorn with his Cappy bubble and last stand. OH! And Bogos freakin’ saved my *** one time it was nuts… Creeps had me to like 100 or less and he helped me survive! *hugs bogos*
